    What you need to know

    • T-Mobile’s newest Member Month perk is a $60 limited-edition Umbro soccer jersey available through the T-Life app starting July 7.
    • The jersey is an original Umbro x T-Mobile design, not tied to any club or national team.
    • Existing T-Life perks aren’t going anywhere, so the Umbro collaboration is an extra option rather than a replacement.

T-Mobile has been giving away everything from fuel discounts to entertainment perks for the past month, but its latest Member Month reward is taking a very different approach. Instead of another free giveaway, the carrier is joining in on soccer culture with an exclusive collaboration that customers can actually wear.

The company partnered with sportswear brand Umbro to introduce a limited-edition soccer jersey just for T-Mobile members. The catch? There is no free lunch. Starting July 7, eligible customers will be able to purchase the jersey for $60 through the T-Life app, while supplies last.

The jersey is not emblematic of any particular club or national team. Instead, it’s an original Umbro and T-Mobile design that blends the sportswear company’s football heritage with T-Mobile’s signature magenta branding.

The launch also is part of T-Mobile’s broader Member Month promotion, which celebrates 10 years of customer rewards. The company said the T-Life app had nearly 14 million members engaging with the app in the first week of the campaign, one of the busiest periods of engagement the platform has seen.

Customers were granted perks across the month, including discounted fuel, travel benefits, dining deals, and access to exclusive events like a members-only T-Pain show. T-Mobile also distributed more than 600,000 codes for fuel discounts and helped more than 1,500 drivers fill up at $1.99 a gallon.

Of course, the carrier’s existing benefits aren’t going away due to the Umbro collaboration. Customers on eligible plans still get access to ongoing extras such as streaming subscriptions, travel perks, DoorDash DashPass offers, and other T-Life promotions. The jersey is just the latest on that growing list.

    Android Central’s Take

As for me, I can’t help but laugh at the sheer audacity of it all. A bold move, definitely, to end a month of real, tangible benefits like free food delivery and dirt cheap gas by asking us to pay a premium to become a walking billboard. Yes, the Umbro collab gives it a tiny shred of streetwear credibility, but at the end of the day, it’s still a $60 T-Mobile ad.
