Google claims to have fixed the bug on Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series phones in its July update, with the problem now listed as ‘Fixed’ on its IssueTracker.
Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a owners, apparently, will need to wait until the September Quarterly Platform Release for their own fix.

However, it’s not certain that the bug has been squashed in quite the way it has been claimed. As Android Authority points out, there’s no specific mention of an idle battery drain issue being fixed in the July Pixel update changelog, making it difficult to pin down precisely what has been changed.
More worryingly, reports of battery drain issues have continued to come in following the July update. Over on the Google Pixel Reddit page, a number of users claim that their phones are still experiencing excessive battery drain.
It hasn’t been a great year for Google’s Pixel series when it comes to bugs. There have been numerous bugs afflicting the Pixel phone series over the past few months, while Android 17’s rollout last month brought with it a fresh litany of bugs.
