    150 New Fast EV Chargers To Use 100% Renewable Energy

    With all the news about mostly declining sales of new electric vehicles in the US, there has been an unexpected “silver lining.” That is a steady stream of new public EV charger installations, including many fast chargers. Within the new installation trend, there is more of a “golden lining,” which is new chargers running on clean, renewable electricity.

    These particular chargers will be fast, and they will be Rivian chargers that run entirely on renewable electricity. “More than 150 chargers will be installed across Caruso properties, rolling out over the next year. Rivian’s reliable network of DC fast chargers is available to all EVs and powered by 100% renewable energy.”

    Rivian chargers use solar power and wind power electricity, as explained on the Rivian site. “Every kilowatt-hour our chargers deliver is matched with renewable resources like solar and wind, on an annual basis. That means the amount of renewable energy we develop or purchase, matches or exceeds the amount of energy flowing through our Rivian Waypoints and Rivian Adventure Network chargers and into EVs.”

    The new chargers will be installed at properties managed by the real estate development and hospitality company Caruso in the LA area over the next year. That’s a lot of fast chargers to be added in a short time period.

    “With two new Rivian showrooms and more than 150 public DC fast chargers planned across our properties, this partnership enhances the first-class retail experience while adding meaningful convenience for our guests. Together, we’re creating destinations that reflect how today’s consumers live, shop and move,” said Jackie Levy, Chief Financial and Revenue Officer at Caruso.

    The LA Times mentioned Caruso and Rivian will partner to provide EV ride-and-drive events at some Caruso properties in various LA metro area locations. California is the largest EV market in the US, and the Golden State has the most public and home EV chargers by far.
