Apple could be preparing to show the first tangible outcome of its newly announced AI tie-up with Google. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple plans to announce a refreshed version of Siri in the second half of February 2026, and the update is expected to lean on Google’s Gemini AI models.

If the report is accurate, the February reveal would mark the first Siri release that meaningfully delivers on the ‘Apple Intelligence’ vision Apple outlined back in June 2024, including features that let Siri perform actions by drawing on a user’s personal context and understanding what’s happening on-screen.

But February may only be the opening act. Gurman also describes a larger Siri overhaul that Apple is expected to talk about at WWDC in June 2026. That version is said to be more conversational; closer to the chat-first assistants people associate with tools like ChatGPT’and may rely more directly on Google’s cloud infrastructure.

The timing is notable because Apple’s AI efforts have reportedly faced internal turbulence. The same reporting suggests leadership friction over earlier coverage of delays and direction changes, and it points to recent executive movement; specifically the departure of Apple’s AI chief John Giannandrea; as another sign the company is recalibrating how it plans to compete in the fast-moving assistant race.

Other outlets have echoed the broader idea that Apple is aiming for a much more chatbot-like Siri as part of its 2026 software roadmap, reinforcing the sense that Apple is gearing up for a major reset rather than incremental tweaks.
