Precise control over surface properties is crucial for the design of nanocarriers in biomedical applications. These properties influence biological interactions. Functional co-monomers can be used to tailor the surface chemistry of nanocarriers synthesized in radical heterophase polymerization in aqueous phase. However, achieving similar control over nanocarriers derived from natural materials in inverse miniemulsion, such as protein nanocapsules, remains challenging. Here, we demonstrate how the surface functional group density of protein nanocapsules can be tuned systematically by varying the hydrophobicity of the continuous phase during the synthesis via the click reaction between hydrophilic azide-modified proteins and a hydrophobic dialkyne crosslinker. By…
CSS selectors never cease to amaze me in how powerful they can be in matching complex patterns. Most of that flexibility is in parent/child/sibling relationships, very seldomly in value matching. Consider my surprise when I learned that CSS allows matching attribute values regardless off case! Adding a {space}i to the attribute selector brackets will make the attribute value search case insensitive: /* case sensitive, only matches “example” */ [class=example] { background: pink; } /* case insensitive, matches “example”, “eXampLe”, etc. */ [class=example i] { background: lightblue; } The use cases for this i flag are likely very limited, especially if…
After a flurry of initial investments in artificial intelligence (AI) projects, including generative and agentic AI implementations, many organizations are facing mixed results and coming to hasty conclusions about AI’s utility. The harsh reality of early experimentation has blunted expected productivity gains and new revenue streams. A recent MIT report suggests that despite investments of $30 billion to $40 billion into generative AI, 95 percent of organizations are realizing zero returns. It is unsurprising therefore that in its 2025 Hype Cycle, Gartner has placed generative AI in the Trough of Disillusionment. When organizations fail to see immediate ROI from a…

TechTides, one of the region’s most anticipated Technology Conferences, has exceeded all expectations ahead of its upcoming event taking place next Tuesday, 18th November. Originally launched with a target of 350 attendees, the conference has already attracted more than 600 registered participants, marking significant momentum for its inaugural event. TechTides Conference 18th November TechTides brings together innovators, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts for a full day of forward-thinking conversations, networking, and insight into emerging trends across the tech ecosystem. The overwhelmingly positive response highlights the growing demand for collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the tech community. “We are absolutely thrilled…
Consider a world where machines not only keep records but also think, learn, and adapt; this is no longer fiction, but the emerging reality of artificial intelligence. Whether applied to voice assistants, autonomous vehicles, or many other use cases, AI-based technology is transforming work, life, and connectivity. Artificial intelligence (AI) can be described as intelligent systems that resemble human intelligence to make decisions, solve problems, and learn. However, within a couple of decades, AI went on to become a critical instrument in almost every industry. With smarter algorithms and larger datasets, the future of AI is set to change all…
This guest post is by Sunil Soares, founder and CEO of YDC – AI Governance. Previously, he founded and led Information Asset, a data management firm. Sunil brings a deeply-researched perspective to AI governance—authoring 13 books that have shaped how enterprises approach data and AI at scale. The YDC team developed an AI Governance prototype in Atlan. We reused the existing operating model with assets and added custom attributes and relations.AI Use CasesAs discussed in an earlier blog, a digital twin may be a virtual replica of a particular patient that reflects the unique genetic makeup of the patient or a simulated three-dimensional…
Today, we are unveiling the next Fairwater site of Azure AI datacenters in Atlanta, Georgia. This purpose-built datacenter is connected to our first Fairwater site in Wisconsin, prior generations of AI supercomputers and the broader Azure global datacenter footprint to create the world’s first planet-scale AI superfactory. By packing computing power more densely than ever before, each Fairwater site is built to efficiently meet unprecedented demand for AI compute, push the frontiers of model intelligence and empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. To meet this demand, we have reinvented how we design AI datacenters and…
Look no further to learn how cybercriminals could try to crack your vault and how you can keep your logins safe 13 Nov 2025 • , 5 min. read The average internet user has an estimated 168 passwords for their personal accounts, according to a study from 2024. That’s a massive 68% increase on the tally four years previously. Given the security risks associated with sharing credentials across accounts, and of using simple-to-guess passwords, most of us need help managing these logins. This is where password managers come in: enabling us to store and recall long, strong and unique passwords…
Support CleanTechnica’s work through a Substack subscription or on Stripe. When it comes to the US electric vehicle market, I thoroughly cover and analyze the sales of fully electric vehicles (aka BEVs). However, I don’t typically touch plugin hybrids. Frankly, automakers don’t break out plugin hybrid data from conventional gas-powered vehicle data when plugin hybrids share a model name — and they almost always share a model name. Nonetheless, it’s interesting to get a peek into the plugin hybrid (PHEV) market when we can, and Argonne National Laboratory does make that possible. I was initially going to write about the…
