CSS is about styling boxes. In fact, the whole web is made of boxes, from the browser viewport to elements on a page. But every once in a while a new feature comes along that makes us rethink our design approach. Article Continues Below Round displays, for example, make it fun to play with circular clip areas. Mobile screen notches and virtual keyboards offer challenges to best organize content that stays clear of them. And dual screen or foldable devices make us rethink how to best use available space in a number of different device postures. Sketches of a round…

Prime Video is where it’s at for sci-fi shows. The Amazon-owned streaming platform has a lot to offer, and the genre titles it carries are next-level. I’ve written about sci-fi TV shows on streamers like Netflix and Apple TV, and I’m confident in saying the science fiction featured on Prime Video hits different.Perhaps it’s the indie-film vibe that permeates many of these titles. It may be the fearlessness of the narratives therein. What I do know is that these shows push the envelope in one way or another, which makes every program I list below worth your time.Whether you’re looking for something…

For much of the past decade, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) has been treated as a settled enterprise decision. Platforms were selected, standardized globally, deeply customized, and expected to serve the organization for years, irrespective of how business priorities evolved. Once chosen, CRM became something enterprises learned to live with rather than actively revisit.  That assumption is now being challenged.  Reach out to discuss this topic in depth.  Across recent enterprise conversations, we see a growing number of organizations reassessing their CRM strategy. This reassessment is not always driven by dissatisfaction with incumbent platforms. In many cases, the technology is stable and deeply embedded. What has changed is…

To what extent can an artificial system be rational?A new MIT course, 6.S044/24.S00 (AI and Rationality), doesn’t seek to answer this question. Instead, it challenges students to explore this and other philosophical problems through the lens of AI research. For the next generation of scholars, concepts of rationality and agency could prove integral in AI decision-making, especially when influenced by how humans understand their own cognitive limits and their constrained, subjective views of what is or isn’t rational. This inquiry is rooted in a deep relationship between computer science and philosophy, which have long collaborated in formalizing what it is to…

The Shift Toward AI Profitability As we enter 2026, the initial “Generative AI hype” has faced a reality check: high investment does not automatically scale to high returns. To understand the drivers of profitability, I conducted an empirical study of 200 real-world B2B AI deployments between 2022 and 2025. The findings reveal what I term the “Budget Paradox.”   Key Insights: Agility over ScaleOur data shows that agile, targeted architectures-typically deployed with budgets under $20,000-yielded a median ROI of +159.8%. In contrast, massive monolithic programs often suffer from “complexity debt,” failing to reach break-even within the first 24 months.  …

Citizen scientists at Thames21’s training session at Hackney Marshes (image credit: Thames21). Environmental charity Thames21 has launched a new online dashboard that – for the first time – brings together key datasets on river health gathered by citizen scientists across London and the Thames Basin. The ‘Citizen Science Dashboard’ currently holds more than 6,000 water quality samples and 2,000 riverfly surveys, making it, as the charity describes, one of the most complete citizen science tools in the UK. By centralising this information, stakeholders can easily access vital data and have a clear understanding of river health. The launch of the…

Semtech has expanded its AirLink router portfolio with two 5G RedCap models aimed squarely at industrial and commercial operators. The AirLink RX400 and AirLink EX400 target a range of industrial IoT use cases where LTE remains common. With many field assets depending on 4G LTE, often in locations with limited power and minimal on-site support, the new models could be viable choices. Many 5G routers exceed the power budgets of off-grid and embedded environments, and Semtech is positioning 5G RedCap, as defined in 3GPP Release 17, as a solution. Both the RX400 and EX400 operate on a 5G Standalone architecture and support…
