Airtel Reduces Data Benefits on Booster Packs Linked to Unlimited 5G Access
Bharti Airtel has reduced the data benefits bundled with its data booster packs linked to the Unlimited (UL) 5G data offering. The Indian telecom operator launched three UL 5G Booster packs in July 2024, enabling users on plans without Unlimited 5G benefits to upgrade their plans and enjoy Unlimited 5G data.

    Airtel’s UL 5G Add-On Packs

Currently, Airtel users on plans with 2GB of data per day or more enjoy Unlimited 5G data benefits. Users on 1GB per day and 1.5GB per day plans can upgrade to Unlimited 5G data using these UL 5G add-ons, priced at Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151.

At the time of launch, these packs offered 3GB, 6GB, and 9GB of additional data respectively, on top of Unlimited 5G data for the remaining validity of the current plan. Unlimited 5G data is over and above the plan limit and can be used only in 5G network areas. Airtel has now reduced the data benefits on these add-on packs.

    Revised Data Benefits

According to the website, the Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151 UL 5G add-on packs now offer 1GB (previously 3GB), 2GB (previously 6GB), and 3GB (previously 9GB) of data respectively, along with Unlimited 5G data benefits. Post quota completion, data will be charged at 50p per MB. These add-on packs will be visible only if the customer is on an eligible base plan.

    Airtel Unlimited 5G Data Benefit

With the Airtel Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151 Unlimited 5G data add-on packs, customers on 1GB or 1.5GB per day plans can also enjoy Unlimited 5G data, subject to a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit of 300GB for 30 days. Since Airtel allows any data benefit to be used on the 5G network, data consumption tends to be significantly faster when connected to 5G.
