Snowflake and OpenAI announce $200 million partnership

The two companies will work on building customized AI solutions for their joint customers. Additionally, OpenAI’s models will be natively available on Snowflake Cortex AI across the three major cloud providers, and will also be accessible through Snowflake Intelligence.

“By bringing OpenAI models to enterprise data, Snowflake enables organizations to build and deploy AI on top of their most valuable asset using the secure, governed platform they already trust,” said Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO of Snowflake. “Customers can now harness all their enterprise knowledge in Snowflake together with the world-class intelligence of OpenAI models, enabling them to build AI agents that are powerful, responsible, and trustworthy. Together, we’re setting a new standard for AI innovation, helping businesses transform with confidence, while maintaining strong security and compliance standards.”

Android developers get access to new monetization insights

The Monetize with Play page in the Google Play Console is being updated with a new dynamic insights area to provide Android developers with a better idea of what is driving revenue for their apps. New metrics include cart conversion rate, cancelled subscriptions over time, average revenue per paying user, and what percentage of the engaged audience converts to buyers.

The page will also now show recommendations to help developers improve these metrics, such as suggesting they add subscription installment plans to extend their reach.

Other recent updates to the Google Play Console include Sales Channel reporting and an Orders API that allows real-time data to be ingested into internal dashboards.

Rocket Software will acquire OpenText’s Vertica analytics database

Vertica is an analytics database that can be used to run analytics and AI workloads on trusted company data. According to Rocket Software, bringing Vertica into its portfolio will allow it to support customers who want to modernize while protecting their sensitive data.

“The surge in AI investment has heightened both the importance and the difficulty of turning data into real business value,” said Milan Shetti, president and CEO of Rocket Software. “With Vertica, we’re addressing the next wave of modernization challenges: transforming data warehouses, repatriating analytics workloads, and enabling AI-driven decision-making so customers can handle their most data-intensive workloads and accelerate modernization.”
