Pre-orders have exceeded Samsung’s, or anyone’s, expectations, reportedly setting a record for a Samsung Galaxy series at 1.44 million units in South Korea. That’s more than the Galaxy Note 10 series at 1.38 million and the widescreen Galaxy Z Fold 8 makes up 70% of that number, so over 1 million.

It’s popular elsewhere, too, as we’ve spotted delays in the UK and US of weeks or even months after the 7 August release date depending on which colour and storage combination you want. This is despite Samsung not offering its usual free double storage deal.
“Due to high demand, we are experiencing a delay in delivery on popular combinations,” says the US store.
The Samsung online exclusive Pistachio is one to generally avoid if you want the phone soon, but it really varies, so here’s a breakdown of the delays:
